What is your Southwest redemption worth?

Pointy is a free Chrome extension that adds a cents-per-point value badge to each flight in Southwest Rapid Rewards’s award search, right on southwest.com, so you can tell a great redemption from a poor one before you book.

A Southwest search on southwest.com with a Pointy value badge on each result.

99 Southwest fares, SEA → LAX, one way

1.3× the value, best fare vs lowest

A real search on southwest.com, Oct 16, 2026. Your fares and prices will differ. Each bar counts the fares at that value in cents per point, in the colour of its rating. Further right is better.

Using Pointy on Southwest

  1. Search with points

Go to southwest.com, turn on the points, miles or award option and search as usual. Pointy reads the points price and the cash price already on the page. There’s nothing to type.

Southwest shows cash and award prices in separate views. Load both, in either order, and Pointy pairs them up. The bar at the top of the page tells you which view it still needs.

  2. Read the badge

Each result with both a cash and a points price gets a badge with its value in cents per point: the cash price ÷ the points price × 100. Higher is better. The label compares each value with your own Southwest searches once you have 30 saved results there.

  3. Handles all the special fees

Hover over a badge to see how it was worked out.

    • Currency: other currencies are converted to US dollars at a daily rate.
    • Taxes: Pointy uses the price with taxes included wherever the site shows one.
    • Award taxes on flights: taken off the cash price the same way.
    • Round trips: values compare whole stays, and both legs of a round trip.

Fares that may mix cabins (part business, part economy) get no badge, so they never pass for a full-cabin deal.

Know the value before you book.
