What is your Hyatt redemption worth?

Pointy is a free Chrome extension that adds a cents-per-point value badge to each hotel in World of Hyatt’s award search, right on hyatt.com, so you can tell a great redemption from a poor one before you book.

3 real Hyatt searches

We ran these searches on hyatt.com. Prices and award charts change, so your search will differ, which is why Pointy works it out live, on the page.

Using Pointy on Hyatt

  1. Search with points

Go to hyatt.com, turn on the points, miles or award option and search as usual. Pointy reads the points price and the cash price already on the page. There’s nothing to type.

  2. Read the badge

Each result with both a cash and a points price gets a badge with its value in cents per point: the cash price ÷ the points price × 100. Higher is better. The label compares each value with your own Hyatt searches once you have 30 saved results there.

  3. Handles all the special fees

Hover over a badge to see how it was worked out.

    • Currency: other currencies are converted to US dollars at a daily rate.
    • Taxes: Pointy uses the price with taxes included wherever the site shows one.
    • Resort and destination fees: taken off the cash price, because you pay them either way.
    • Multi-night stays: values compare the whole stay’s cash price with its points.

Know the value before you book.
